COURSE DESCRIPTION
Software in the Classroom (EMC 300)
This class focuses on the
effective integration of software into the classroom. Students will learn
how to organize their classroom by using the appropriate technology oriented
methodology and the appropriate software; how to create classroom presentations;
and how to evaluate educational software. In this class students will have
an opportunity to create their own website to use in a classroom setting.
COURSE OBJECTIVE
Students will be able to
demonstrate competency in the evaluation of software samples for student
management, presentation & authoring and educational software.
STUDENTS ARE EXPECTED TO:
-
Create an ASURITE account at either the Computer Commons or a designated
ASU satellite location. Complete an initial self-assessment rating of the
ISTE Standards.

Evaluate educational software programs using the evaluation forms.
-
Design and create a software integration plan.
-
Design, develop, and create a 10-12 screen presentation or a two-page handout
of content material.
-
Individually design, develop and create a presentation of a thematic unit.
