  • 1989-1991
  • Director of Training

    Planned, organized and orchestrated training and development of over 12,000 students per year in 28 different courses. Developed, planned, selected and/or integrated coursework curricula and training materials for a variety of management, business and technical topics. Conducted job/task analysis studies on newly developed training complex to determine manpower and maintenance requirements. Coordinated all coursework design and curriculum modifications/changes.

    Achievements

    • Oversaw and evaluated a staff of 120 instructors.
    • Provided technical and engineering support during start-up phases of new multi-million dollar Fire Fighting Training Complex.
    • Member of Total Quality Management Steering Committee.
    • Developed and administered a $4 million operating and training budget.
    • Oversaw operations of a $28 million computerized training system.
    • Participated in two-year curriculum design project which required complete re-development of a 10-week and 2-week course.

     

  • 1985-1989
  • Chief Engineering Officer

    Administered and executed operational, maintenance, and personnel management functions for a large marine vessel located within an international organization. Supervised and managed a staff of 170 personnel, including development and integration of comprehensive safety and training programs, emergency readiness procedures and maintenance programs.

    Achievements

    • Discovered a major maintenance malfunction of a 16,000 horsepower high pressure turbine and initiated all repair functions.
    • Implemented an Engineering Operational Sequencing System to promote training and good engineering practices.

     

  • 1982-1985
  • Department Director

    Managed, directed and administered maintenance programs for nine marine vessels located on the West Coast. Developed and implemented training and development programs; instituted maintenance and safety procedures; conducted certification inspections for Planned Maintenance System (PMS).

    Achievements

    • Established a vendor sourcing and selection program which increased competition and greatly reduced maintenance costs.
