Clicking on the following link will take one to the download page for FirstClass® software and user documentation.
Installation
NOTE: These instructions illustrate the initialization and logon sequence for a Macintosh installation. The sequence for a PC is very similar.
When the download is complete, this file will be on your desktop:
It will automatically expand itself into a self-extracting archive:
Double-click on the self-extracting archive. It will expand to create a FirstClass® Client folder.
At this point, you can discard the file that was downloaded and the self-extracting archive. Open the FirstClass® folder and click on the executable file:
A standard file dialog box will be dispalyed. Select the FirstClass® Client folder.
Select the Settings folder.
If you are already connected to the Internet, select the Generic Modem file. Otherwise, choose Generic Network.
The FirstClass® login box will be displayed. Select Setup.
The Service Setup dialog box will be displayed. Select TCP-IP.FCP for the connection. Fill in your logon id, password, and server address, as they were given to you in class.
Click on Save. You will be returned to the login display. Your logon ID and your password should already be filled in. Click on Login. You should connect and get a screen similar to this:
