Texts Objectives Format Evaluation

Introduction Since at least half of this seminar will be taking place through the FirstClass® Conferencing system, we will begin by introducing ourselves through the posting of a short, 250 word autobiography in FirstClass®. Assignments will be uploaded to the homework folder on FirstClass®.
Online
Interaction
When writing online remember to clearly identify the topic and sender.
If you are nervous about communicating online, it may be easier if you write first in a word processor where you may take your time and use a spell checker (A GOOD IDEA FOR EVERYONE!). Take the time to carefully construct your correspondence and you will find that people will take your posting more seriously.
Assignments Assignments are to be uploaded to the homework folder. All assignments are due no later than Sunday night at midnight, at which time that week's folder will be closed. The assignments are to have the assignment number clearly marked in the subject line of your message. Assignments will then be reviewed and posted to the papers folder for all to read. Each week will be devoted to discussion on one topic. Conversations on previous topics may continue in the FirstClass® chat area.
Discussion To facilitate discussion, focus questions will be posted by discussion group members who will also be responsible for moderating and summarizing the discussion for that week online. In order to fully benefit from this seminar, you will need to contribute a minimum of two thoughtful dialogues to each discussion. Dialogues should be limited to one screen.
